Online
Banking Security Information
Is the login information I enter
within the login window secure even though the web page I
accessed it from is not a secure web page and does not display
the "lock" in the lower right portion?
Yes your login is still secure. Since you have been
educated for years to look for the "little lock in the
corner" when you are entering information (credit card
info, logins, etc.) on a web form, we understand you are
initially concerned about the lack of a "lock" on
the new Windsor Federal Savings home page, given that you can
log into Windsor Federal Savings Online Banking from that
page. You can rest assured that your login information is
protected.
The section of the page that contains the SignOn ID and
Password fields is a separate form that utilizes a secure
protocol (https) to pass the information from the browser to
Windsor Federal Savings Online Banking. The SignOn ID and
Password are encrypted (128-bit) during this transmission, and
the Online session that returns is all https (as it always has
been).
Is the
Internet safe and secure for Online Banking?
Yes. We use 128-bit encryption: Secure Socket Layer 3.0 (SSL)
for all communications. This is currently the highest level of
security available for internet transactions.
Exactly what equipment and software
do I need to access Windsor Federal Savings Online Banking?
You'll need an Internet service provider (ISP), a modem (the
faster the better, but at least 28,800 baud is recommended),
and Browser software which supports Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
encryption. For best results, we recommend Microsoft
Explorer 5.5 or higher and Netscape
Navigator 7.0. In all cases it is important that you be on
the most recent release of whatever version you are on.
Can anyone else see my account
information?
No. Your online account information is available through
access methods that have been rigorously tested for security
accessibility. The information is not public. Only you can
access it using your Sign-On ID and Password. You can help
safeguard your information and the banking systems by
protecting your Sign-On ID and Password. A proper combination
of your Sign-On ID and Password is the only way to get access
into your account. Please be careful to keep this information
secure and always Signoff after each session.
