Windsor Federal Bank’s Anthony Hernandez Named a 2026 “100 Men of Color” Honoree

Windsor Federal Bank is proud to share that Anthony Hernandez, AVP and Commercial Portfolio Manager at the Bank’s Suffield office, has been named a 2026 honoree of the 13th Annual 100 Men of Color Black Tie Gala & Awards. The program recognizes 100 men of color from Connecticut and Western Massachusetts for their leadership, professional achievement, and service to their communities.

Hernandez and the other honorees were celebrated on Friday, September 25, 2026, at The Bushnell in Hartford.

“I was surprised and honored to receive this recognition,” Hernandez said. “It is especially meaningful because it reflects the importance of leadership, service, and creating opportunities for men of color.”

Hernandez grew up in the North End of Springfield and began his banking career as a part-time teller after graduating from the University of Massachusetts Amherst during the 2008 financial crisis. He advanced through residential lending before moving into commercial banking, where he now manages commercial loan portfolios for Windsor Federal Bank.

Working from Windsor Federal Bank’s Suffield office, Hernandez builds relationships with local business owners and helps provide financing solutions tailored to their goals and unique needs.Alongside his banking career, Hernandez serves as an Aircraft Maintenance Officer in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, helping oversee operations and personnel at Westover Air Reserve Base. He credits mentors, family, faith, and friends for supporting his professional and military paths, as well as Windsor Federal Bank for its commitment to service members.

“The most gratifying thing I do is being able to do both,” Hernandez said. “Windsor Federal truly embodies the philosophy of supporting service members.”

The recognition also carries a broader purpose. A portion of the gala’s proceeds supports scholarships for young men graduating from high school who plan to attend college, as well as leadership and mentorship programs.

Now 12 years into his military career, Hernandez plans to continue serving while deepening his lending expertise and pursuing further professional development.

Hernandez’s recognition reflects Windsor Federal Bank’s commitment to developing leaders who serve with purpose and help strengthen the communities the Bank calls home. His advice to others is simple: “Be willing to work hard. Never lose belief in yourself. At the end of the day, you only have to prove it to yourself.”
