Windsor Federal Bank Celebrates the Shad Derby Festival!

On May 18th, Windsor Federal Bank proudly sponsored and participated in the Windsor Shad Derby Festival and Road Race & Fun Walk, a cherished annual event that brings together the Windsor community and visitors from all over New England. This festival, orchestrated by the Windsor Shad Fest Bureau—a coalition of 15 local volunteer organizations—celebrates tradition, community spirit, and the return of the shad fish to the Connecticut River.

Some members of our team joined hundreds of runners and walkers in the road race and fun walk, while others cheered with cowbells and pompoms, embodying the spirit of health, fitness, and teamwork. We also hosted a booth on the Windsor Town Green, where festival attendees could learn more about our bank’s services and community initiatives. The festival featured a lively parade, local entertainment, games, magicians, musicians, and family activities.

The Shad Derby Festival, hosted by the Windsor Jaycees and the Windsor Shad Fest Bureau, is more than just a day of events—it’s a celebration of Windsor’s vibrant community. All proceeds from the road race and fun walk support local organizations and projects, such as the SAT Breakfast, Project Graduation, the Kiwanis student backpack program, Windsor Police Cadets, Windsor Education Fund, and several Kiwanis clubs at Windsor schools. These initiatives make a significant impact on our community, and we are honored to contribute to their success through our participation and sponsorship.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the Windsor Shad Fest Bureau, volunteers, local businesses, and contributors who make the Shad Derby Festival a highlight of the spring season. We are proud to be a part of this tradition and look forward to many more years of community engagement and celebration. Thank you to everyone who visited our booth, cheered us on in the race and walk, and made this day truly special. See you next year at the Shad Derby Festival!
